Your massage with Megan will most often begin with 40 minutes on the back, neck and shoulders and will include legs, feet and arms, neck and shoulders. At the beginning she will listen carefully and discuss your specific situation so that your massage can be tailored for your personal needs. Your massage will alternate a medium and deep pressure-- a very deep massage is also
available.
Trained at the Soma School of Massage in Oakland, Megan has given hundreds of massages at spas, athletic clubs and Davis Massage Center. She received her original training during the Bay Area “body work revolution” of the late 70s and early 80s. Her teachers and associates were Esalen trained and influenced. At that time there was a rich cross-pollination taking place between many of the teachers and the new styles of bodywork that were emerging such as Rolfing, Polarity, Trager, Lomi-lomi, (Hawaii), and Hellerwork, to name a few. The director of the Soma School was Bob Brown. He was one of the first Rolfers in the Bay Area but also drew his style and approach from other influences. After being certified at the Soma School, she spent over two years at Albany Spa & Sauna performing an average of six massages per day, four days a week. Since then Megan has taken numerous workshops and classes, has created a number of corporate massage programs, and has taught at Massage Therapy Institute in Davis.
Megan was born and raised in Montreal, Canada, and holds a BA in Philosophy and English from Trent University in Canada. She also teaches meditation with Shambhala Training International, a renowned secular meditation program. When not working, she likes to exercise, read, meditate, dance and travel!
